Be careful when mixing Percocet with knitting...

Once again reporting from my bed...I'm now 48 hours post surgery and am feeling really good, actually!

The first night, I woke up with excruciating pain around 2am and yesterday was pretty bad pain-wise but last night I had finally figured out (with the help of Dr. Lewis) the correct meds to take and when. So, when I woke up at 2am this morning, I felt fine and went right back to sleep.

This morning, I even took a spin around the house on my crutches! I let Nittany out, fed her and the cats, made some coffee...until Sean figured out what I was up to and sent me back to bed. I did manage to get a shower in before settling back on my pillows for the day. The shower seal thingie works really well!

I don't want to overdo anything today since tomorrow is Easter (oh yeah, and my b-day) and we're venturing over to Lakeland to have Easter dinner with our Florida family. I'm so looking forward to gathering together! I love how over the years we've gotten into a pattern of who hosts which holiday. Mark's Mom and Bill get Easter, Mari and Dave host Thanksgiving, Sean and I host Christmas Eve, and then my folks have Christmas Day. Easter is the first holiday without Dad...and my first birthday without him...AND it marks the one year anniversary of his stem cell transplant. It's going to be a rough day all round but being with my family will definitely help.

So, on the agenda for today - more TV, more knitting, some reading, some cross-stitch. I had to rip all the way back to the ribbing on my Honey Badgers last night. I thought that I remembered the pattern repeat so I wasn't looking at the pattern as I knit. Well, I remembered the actual pattern row but it was the number of plain rows of stockinette that I failed to recall...and suddenly 3 rows between pattern rows became 5 rows and my cuffs became much longer than they were supposed to be. If it was the first sock, I'd call it a "design element" and move on but since it's the second sock, I was stuck ripping it out. So kids - Percocet and knitting do not mix. If you must knit while trying to numb pain - at least read the PATTERN.

I was hoping for some progress pictures today but alas...that'll have to wait until later or tomorrow...

The journey continues...
